Summer Backpack Ministry Food Drive | 2026

During the school year, our congregation partners with local schools to help feed families who struggle with food insecurity. Through the Mt. Horeb Backpack Ministry, children receive a backpack of child-friendly, shelf-stable food to take home over the weekend. During the summer, when children are not in school, we support these families through our Summer Food Drive, where these families receive approximately 50 pounds of shelf-stable food to fill their pantry!

The Backpack Ministry currently serves children from 10 different schools in Lexington School District One:

Lake Murray Elementary School
New Providence Elementary School
Lexington Elementary School
Rocky Creek Elementary School
Forts Pond Elementary School
