MIDDLE SCHOOL
Middle School Bible Study & Lunch
May 28; June 4, 18; July 2, 16 // 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM // Cost: $10 Each Study
This summer we will be hosting a Middle School Bible study at the church. This will be a great time to dive into Scripture together, ask great questions and spend time with friends. We will provide each student with a Journal Bible and some writing utensils. Students should bring $10 to cover the cost of lunch – provided by the church.
Middle School Rec Day
June 6, 20; July 18 // 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Middle School students are invited to join us for three different Rec Days. These will be fun, low-competition events where everyone will have a fun time! No cost for June 6 or July 18.
*No cost for this event, except on June 20. We will have a cost and registration due to it being an off-site event.
- June 6 – Mt. Horeb Church; fun games, rain or shine
- June 20 – Big Air of Lexington; Middle School students are invited to join us on Thursday, June 20, from 11am – 1pm, at Big Air in Lexington. Students should be dropped off and picked up at Big Air. They should also arrive early to register, complete Big Air Waiver, and pay. Cost is approximately $20 for the two hours. Students can bring additional money for food and drinks at the concession stand. This event is for students who have just completed 6th, 7th, and 8th grade.

Vacation Bible School
June 10-13
*No Sunday School on June 16th for VBS Celebration Sunday
Our church will be busy this week with VBS! If you are a rising 7th or 8th grader, we hope you would join as a crew guide or volunteer in a department on campus. For all rising 6th graders, be sure to register for VBX. This is the 5th grade elementary class and this year you will be hanging out with Student Ministry during this time (available for AM and AF only). SNL – Summer Night Live
June 19; July 17 // 6:00-7:30 PM
We first launched SNL in the summer of 2021, and this year, we are back! Join us for a combined Middle School and High School night of games, snacks, surprises, Bible teaching and worship. We are excited to gather together a few times throughout the time this summer to worship and grow together. No cost for this event.
Middle School Kentucky Mission Trip
June 23-29
This summer we are headed to Kentucky for our annual Middle School Mission Trip! We will be helping a community build a worship center, as well as spending time in worship and fellowship with other groups. This will be an incredible opportunity to learn and serve as a team. VIP Nerf Party (Rising 6th graders) CANCELLED

Due to an equipment issue with our Nerf vendor, we will have to reschedule this event for an undetermined date. Please check back later in the summer. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
Camp Apex at Mission Lake

Mt. Horeb Students invites you to join us for Camp Apex, where our faith can reach new heights! Nestled in a beautiful outdoor setting only 45 minutes away from Lexington, our camp offers worship, teaching, outdoor activities (kayaking, fishing, archery, swimming, hiking) and friendly competition.
Students will stay in beautiful brand-new cabins overlooking a breathtaking 50-acre lake called Mission Lake. Make plans to have your child join us for an unforgettable week.

Worship Workshops
July 29-31 // 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM // Cost: $30
The Contemporary Worship Team is hosting Worship Workshops for rising 6th – 12th-grade students interested in learning more about worship music, live production, and Pastoral ministry. This is a great opportunity to learn more about one of these areas and a great way to develop and define skills. If you are a beginner, this is also an opportunity to be exposed to how these ministries work together to serve in a worship service setting. In the Pastoral Ministry track you can learn more about speaking and Bible Study methods.
There are many worship tracks that you can choose from: Drums, Bass, Keys, Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, and Vocals. Our Production track will focus on audio, lighting, and live video production as these areas work together to support worship services. Worship Workshops will be July 29-31 from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Middle School Carowinds Trip
August 1 // Cost: $55
We are headed to CAROWINDS! The cost includes park admission, transportation, and a Carowinds Single Meal Deal inside the park. Carowinds has moved to a cashless format, so students should not bring cash to pay for additional food and souvenirs – they will need a debit/credit card. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER!
B2SB – Back 2 School Bash
August 11 // 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM
Join us for our annual Back 2 School Bash! A time for all Middle Schoolers to come and celebrate the completion of their first week of school. We will have inflatables, games, music, outdoor entertainment and food for purchase at this all out bash! All middle schoolers are welcome, this is a perfect time to invite a friend! There is no cost to attend this event, however we will have food truck vendors on-site, so you might want to bring some cash in case you get hungry! After we finish off our annual B2SB this year, stick around for our Fall Kickoff! Those details are below.
Fall Kickoff
August 11 // 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
Our Programing year start will kickoff this Sunday evening with new merch for purchase, vision casting for the year and high energy worship and teaching in our Student Room. This will be a combined event with our High School students. Surprises, snacks and giveaways will be a part of this night. You won’t want to miss this! Bring some money for new Student Ministry Merch – we’ve got some awesome swag coming at ya this year!
Middle School Programming Starts
August 14 // 6:00 PM -7:30 PM
Wednesday Night Programming for Mt. Horeb Church starts back up on this night. That means our campus is hopping! Middle Schoolers in the Student Room, Kids in The Zone and Clubhouse, Adult Classes in the Sanctuary and classrooms throughout the East Campus. Whew! That’s a lot! And after summer break, we are all excited to be back on campus as a church family in fellowship together.
HIGH SCHOOL
High School Bible Study & Lunch
May 28; June 4, 18; July 2, 16 // 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Join us as we kickoff our summer bible study! This is a time to dive into Scripture together, ask great questions and spend time with friends. We will meet in Fellowship Hall as we go over “Revival Generation” by Shane Pruitt. After each study we will spin “The Wheel” to decide where we will have lunch together. Drop off and pickup will be at Mt. Horeb, and make sure you bring money for lunch!
High School Rec Day
June 6, 20 // 1:00-3:00 PM
Join us this summer for some summer sports! It might be soccer, it might be baseball, it might be frisbee, but it WILL BE FUN! We’ll meet each time at Mt. Horeb, and we will provide a refreshing snack to replenish from all the fun! All skill levels are welcome! No cost for this event.

High School Costa Rica Mission Trip
July 20-27
This summer we are headed back to Costa Rica for our High School Mission Trip! We will be working alongside with Daniel and Sarah Barrett again. The Barrett’s are Mission Partners of Mt. Horeb and lead Horizon Church in Jaco, Costa Rica. We will be lending a helping hand with local missions work and various community projects. Calling all ladies and gentlemen…. this day is just for you! Both guys and gals will have a separate fun activity to be a part of during the day. We will then come back together as a whole group to celebrate the end of summer with a Luau! Location of activities and Luau to be announced soon!
