UPWARD BASKETBALL ASSISTANT LEAGUE MANAGER

The Assistant League Director is a 15-20 hours per week, non-exempt, temporary position. Flexibility in work schedule is required based on the need to be present at Upward practices on Monday and Tuesday nights and games on Saturday mornings.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recruit, train and retain volunteer coaches, referees, scorekeepers, etc. to assist players and cheerleaders
  • Ensure that all volunteers are up to date on the church Safe Sanctuary Policy
  • Maintain the Upward League Database in selecting teams, practices and game schedules
  • Assist in the Upward end of season celebration for all teams and families
  • Provide all necessary resources to coaches for practices and games
  • Attend and set-up practices two nights a week and games on Saturday mornings
  • Oversee two pre-season evaluations for players
  • Experience in working with students in K5-6th grade
  • Fulfill the mission of Upward by promoting the gospel and sharing the love of Jesus
  • Required working presence at Christmas Eve services as needed or assigned
  • Basketball experience as a player or coach recommended
  • Other duties as assigned
