We hope you will join us this Advent season for any of our events or services either in-person or online. It is truly the most wonderful time of the year and we are excited to see what God will do!
Every Christmas season, Christians across the globe celebrate the world-changing moment of Jesus’ birth, when God chooses to put on flesh to live and walk among us, know us and ultimately, sacrifice Himself for us. The birth of Jesus was a fulfillment of many promises in scripture, one of which tells us that Jesus would be called Immanuel, meaning “God with us.” As we celebrate the forgiveness for our sins we have received by grace through faith in Jesus, we also have a responsibility to continue that same promise by carrying the same love of Jesus into the world. We were created to do great and wonderful things for the good of others and the glory of God. God works in us so He can work through us for His eternal purposes.
Each year, Mt. Horeb Church’s annual Advent offering is used to spread the hope of Jesus in our communities and across the globe. We believe God is on the move through the people called Methodist and you are invited to join us as we partner with the Global Methodist Church to spread the light of Christ in a world living in darkness. Mt. Horeb Church’s 2023 Advent offering will go toward assisting newly formed Global Methodist Churches in South Carolina to pay their cost of separation from the United Methodist Church. It will also go toward helping plant new Global Methodist Churches in South Carolina and other parts of the world as well as establishing a future Mt. Horeb Church campus in the Columbia area. God is doing incredible things in our church and the newly formed Global Methodist Church; join us as we strive to see the truth of the gospel take root, grow and spread for a beautiful future.
We will begin collecting the Advent Offering on December 17.
