ADULT MINISTRY DIRECTOR

RESPONSIBILITIES
WORSHIP
- Be present in worship on the weekend to make connections
TEACHING & CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT
- Attend long range sermon planning meetings to stay in tune to teaching trajectory
- Meet with preaching team periodically to develop curriculum that would support sermon series including sermon-based small groups
- Teach/lead weekly bible study (rotation)
DISCIPLESHIP
- Develop a clear Wesleyan discipleship pathway to facilitate making, maturing and mobilizing disciples who magnify Jesus Christ
- Develop systems that constantly care for the overall discipleship pathway and promote each person taking their next step to grow in love of God and neighbor
- Oversee Adult Discipleship, replicating small groups, Sunday School, Men’s ministry, Women’s ministry and Young Adult’s Ministry
- Develop curriculum (for Mt. Horeb Church and for the Global Methodist Church) in keeping with the Wesleyan tradition and doctrines of the GMC that makes, matures and mobilizes disciples
- Recruit, train, empower and resource group leaders and groups of all types (Sunday school, small groups, core groups)
- Utilize technology to track significant data on connections and discipleship
- Supervise Adult Discipleship staff
ADMINISTRATION
- Oversee direct reports
- Assist staff in leadership development
- Attend Administrative Council meetings every other month
- Attend weekly staff meetings
- Attend weekly staff/prayer time
- In rotation for teaching weekly staff devotion
CONGREGATIONAL CARE
- Assist Congregational Care Pastor and team as needed
- Attendance for small group and Sunday School
- Planning Center: room assignments/events
- Maintain calendar
- Create Adult Ministry guide for spring and fall
- Post on Adult Ministry social media
- Curriculum for small groups and Sunday school
- Make sure leaders and members of small groups have access to Right Now Media
- Realm: train leaders how to use the app
- Maintain rosters for small group and Sunday school in Realm
- Keep in contact with speakers for Sisterhood events and other Adult Ministry events
- PO’s for speaker fees, reimbursements, orders, etc.
- Admin duties for events such as Night to Shine, Sisterhood, etc.
- Meet with leaders to teach them to how to use Plex, Apple TV, Right Now Media
